A video of two frogs getting married in Karnataka has gone viral and rightly so, because they have been adorned with as much finery a frog can wear. The marriage took place in Udupi, a city that is going through a terrible water crisis for a few months now and the scarcity of water has only worsened due to the heat. The frogs were married to please the rain gods, I don’t know if they will succeed in pleasing them but surely, the gods must be amused. Dressed in custom made outfits, Varun and Varsha, the two frogs respectively were joined in holy matrimony as per Hindu traditions. Both the frogs are from different villages and never lived in the same pond. The people of Udupi wanted to give the best wedding to this couple, hence had wedding cards printed and had close to 100 guests present, all in attendance to bless the newly married. If you’re wondering how to explain this to a friend then fret not, this ritual has name, it is called ‘Mandooka Parinaya’. The story does not end here, while you are slaving it off at work or questioning why your love life is nonexistent, these two frogs are off for their honeymoon to Mannapalla, near Manipal. I hate to break it to you, your aunt has a solid taunt ready for you, if the frogs can get married, why can’t you?
Note: This story is not fake, India is a land filled with surprises. Check out the video below.
