We all need to blow off some steam with bae once in a while and if you’re part of the unmarried youth in India, living with your parents, this can be very very hard to achieve. It’s awkward to check into hotels in the first place and then when they realise you’re just there to do the deed and in fact live in the very same city, you can be turned down. And you go home, frustrated and humiliated, with your tail between your legs. Or worse, you resort to public spaces. Don’t! Fortunately, there are people out there who understand the struggle. Here are some websites where you can book rooms which will accept you and your local ID. No questions asked.
PS: You need to be above the age of 18, of course.
Stay Uncle lets you book whole/multiple days or half days for when you don’t have the time or the money. Choose between their day slot (10 am - 7 pm) or their night slot (9 pm - 10 am) and pay accordingly. They’ve tied up with about 1000 hotels and have even marked out the ones which accept LGBTQ couples.
Present in: Delhi NCR, Mumbai, Hyderabad and Bangalore.
You can book hotels off Brevistay for 3, 6 or 12 hours and you have rooms starting at just Rs 449 (in Delhi). Brevistay is also popular for people who have a few hours to kill in the city before a flight. They’re planning to expand to 20+ cities across India soon.
Present in: Delhi NCR, Mumbai, Bangalore, Hyderabad, Kolkata, Chennai, Jaipur, Lucknow, Haridwar, Mysore, Kolkata
Oyo consists of the largest network of budget hotels in India but we’re partial to the OYO Townhouse properties which are the company’s own. The rooms at Townhouse are small and basic so we can’t imagine long stays to be too comfortable. But for a night (or day), it’s more than comfortable. The room comes with free Wi-Fi, towels, a television and great room service.
Most OYO hotels (the ones apart from Townhouse) also accept local IDs and couples but best to read each property’s individual policies.
Townhouse present in: Delhi, Gurgaon, Bangalore, Hyderabad
Pairstay also has ties with several hotels across various cities and gives you the freedom to book it for the day (10 am - 7 pm) or the night (8 pm - 10 am) or multiple days if you’re looking for a longer escape. Rooms start at Rs 950.
10am - 7pm or 8 pm to 10 am
Present in: Delhi NCR, Ahmedabad, Gandhinagar, Ghaziabad, Jaipur, Jamnagar, Rajkot, Vadodara
Like the name suggests, Ghanta Hotels lets you book rooms by the hour (well, the minimum is 2 hours). The rates go as low as Rs 300 (excluding tax) so if you’re on a bit of a budget and are only looking for an ‘in an out’ kind of situation, Ghanta has your back. The downside? They only let you book through their app. But much like Uber, it keeps track of all your bookings and even sends reminders.
Download it here and start booking.
Other websites which connect you to hotels which are cool with unmarried couples with local IDs are: Agoda, GoIbibo, FabHotels, Treebo, Mistay and Airbnb. You just have to use their filters to get the suitable results or view each hotel’s policies and rules separately.
