When I first came across this concept, I was sure it was some sexist crap but as I read on, I realised it’s either a scam or the invention of the year. The brand, And Me has come up with two categories of these juicy drinks: One for general healthy, hair and nails and the other is for that time of the month.
The entire premise of these beverages is based on the fact that women go through many life changes which men don’t (agree so far) and whereas they acknowledge that women are strong and beautiful, there are times when we need just that extra boost. They also claim they’ve figured out the taste buds of menstruating women (hmm… debatable).
So what goes in the drink? There’s a tonne of fresh fruit, Ayurvedic herbs, vitamins (calcium, iron, copper, zinc, folic acid and all the vitamins with a letter following them). The period drinks aim to sort out hormonal imbalance, reduce bloating and make those horrible cramps a bit better. Do they work? I honestly think this is something you have to try for yourself. But even if it doesn’t, you’re still putting some good stuff inside your body. And hey, at least your boyfriend isn’t going to chug these down and leave you with an empty fride amirite?
They deliver all across India. If you’re curious enough to try, order here.
